Cards With A Bang

Here are two cards I made for a couple of teenage boys down the street.

They are always playing Air soft and war-games with my boys, so this fit right in with there personalities. I turned these in to gift card / cash holders – that’s what gifts are for kids these days anyway. They went over with a “bang” (wink)

I used Stand and Salute for the gun card and Indie Art for the grenade cut at 4.3 by 6.4. For both of these I used Design Studio to flip and wield two of the same image together to make a “card”, and just use by bone folder to score it down the center. Do not have the info for the cut size on the gun. The words “HARDCORE” also came from Indie Art at .9. I used a real beaded chain but cut the dog tags out of card stock.

This one says, "Hope Your Birthday is Fully Loaded"

Refurbished Plaque / Sign

Next up is a wall plaque I re-furbished. Here is a picture of one I bought from Hobby Lobby just as is purchased.
I wanted one to compliment it in the same color but I could not find one so I bought a second one just the same and used some vinyl and my Cricut to change it up.
I wish I would have moved the "Cherish Family" over just a tad, but I did not want to re do it since I  did this the hard way. It was before I got my Imagine and printable vinyl.

I used some ink and markers to get it the color I wanted on some regular old white kitchen liner vinyl.

I used Opposites Attract cart for the lettering (opposites (shift) & upright (shift)). I just used a ruler to transfer the letter to the metal plaque (no transfer tape). The new plaque says,”FAITH FAMILY FRIENDS”, “Have Faith Cherish Family Welcome Friends”. The large letters are cut at 2.3 and the smaller letters were cut at 1.5.

Now I have two nice signs hanging in my Kitchen – One I bought & one I refurbished.

Tri-Fold or Shutter Card

Okay friends, followers, and Cricut folks…

I know it has been a long time since I posted, but life happens in-between my crafting and sometimes blogging is the last thing I do. I rather craft and have fun with the family, but do enjoy posting my creations. I wish I could get a job crafting so I could get paid for what I love doing. But…maybe if it were a job, I would not love it so much. Enough of my rambling and on to the creations!

First I have a card I made for my sister-in-law last November. It is one of those Tri-Fold or “shutter” cards. It was fun and easy to make. I found several tutorial videos on the net. Just do a search and pick one. I did my first card from a class I took at the CK scrapbooking convention in San Marcus last year – That was so much fun!

Basically you take a 6 x 12 (or 5 ½ X 12 ) sheet of card stock and score it at 2”, 4” 8” & 10” . Then you cut from the 2 inch score line to the 10 inch score (at 1 ½ inches in on each long side). Then play with it a little bit and fold to your liking. I used my Cricut for the wording (the file got corrupted so I do not know which cart it was sorry). I used some Cricut patterned papers from their 6 X 12 stacks and the stripped glitter paper is from My Minds Eye the Penny Lane Stack of glitter papers (beautiful paper). I added some flowers with a brad and a butterfly (have no idea where the butterfly came from, I bought it an a bag of crafts form a garage sale).

It says, “So you are 29”, “Again”, “Happy Birthday”. Happy Birthday is cut from the Zooballoo cart.

I think I am going to make a buch of card bases like this and have them ready when I need a late minute card.
