Trio of love (Box Cards)

This post contains affiliate links I may be compensated for.

I have more box cards for you.   A set of three I made for Valentines. I just love box cards.  I use Lori Whitlock All Occasions Box Cards (cut with my Cricut Explore) as a base for the card box, but always "add to" with embellishments and often completely  re-design the "guts" of the card. However, Lori Whitlock has some simple cute cards all on thier own.   With the cards I have for you today I kept some of the envelopes but added vintage clip art, lots more hearts and a Valentine sentiments for a complete new look.

On to my darling trio...Aren't they so sweet?!

Here you can see the dainty pink rose ribbon and  white tulle I used to accenting the sweet little girl

I did some hand painting on this one with red and green acrylic on the hearts and leaves; as well as glitter gel roller to accent the bow, hearts and eyes.  Also added Spectrum Noir crystal clear glitter brush to the larger heart -t hard to see in this photo

A tiny note slips out of the envelope

I added bright specks to her eyes with my glitter gel roller

Love the dimension of box cards!   REMEMBER: Box cards fold flat for mailing

Sunday Share - With Anna Griffin - Valentine Cards

Anna  Griffin shared some Valentine inspiration on her blog Tuesday (see link).  On Sundays she has her "Griffinites" (a.k.a fans)  share on her Facebook page what they have been using her products on.   This post is for "Sunday Share".   I use a LOT of her products for the cards I sell at local craft fairs and for many of the personal cards I send. I tend to add other vendor products to make it my own but other times it is all Anna.  These first four are mostly all Anna. The arrows are spellbinders, ribbon and bow aren't hers and I added some extra hearts - but everything else are her products.

used my new "Festooned" die to cut the background  layer for this one

I think Anna makes elegance so easy - I love the look of this card.

Here are a few with Anna products but with more "other" products.

The vintage print and gold striped paper aren't Griffin products but everything else is
Simple and elegant - Gold strip paper is from an unmarked stack from Tuesday Morning and the center phrase is cut from Carta Bella Amour paper kit
Cute!  The phrase, card base and pinwheel are Anna Griffin, but rest is not.
Inside: I only have eyes for you. Have a spectacular Valentines day.

As you can see, I like to add vintage images to a lot of my cards.  The images blend very well with Anna Griffin's style.

Do you use Anna Griffin Products?  Do you post on her "Sunday Share"? Do you use Vintage images on your projects?  I'd love to see what you are making!

Time for Love

Today I have two more Valentine Cards that I am sharing as a Guest Designer over on the CropStop blog.

I needed to use a few items that are sold in the CropStop Store so I went with a Darcie embossing folder, as they have several of those.  Once I  had the tool in mind (and the theme - Valentines) all I needed was an idea, in which Pinterest helped.  I got the sentiment from a card that read "I miss you all the TIME" and away I flew.

I started with the embossing folder and once embossed I used my craft knife to roughly push the clock out and inked them in red around the edges.

After I was done both my oldest and my DH thought I should have included the "I" in I love you, but there would not have been enough room

Here is a second card I made with the "leftovers".  I think I like it better than the original.  The inside for this one  says "All the time"

Which one do you like better?

The sentiment on the front of this one is an Anna Griffin 3-D sticker

You're Tweet Card

Hello fellow crafters and a very Happy New Year to you.  I hope your holidays where splendid.  My were good but I am fighting a cold at the moment.

Anyway on to some craftiness....

I am so excited to be a guest designer over at the CropStop this month for the 18th and the 25th of January.   They also have an on-line store where they sell several items from popular brand-names.

I'm thrilled, as this is my first time being gust designer.  A few months ago I won the challenge over on their blog.  As a prize I received a cute embossing folder by Couture Creations from the Fresh and Fun collection call Smooch.  With Valentines right around the corner I thought it would  be the perfect tool to use for my creation for their blog this week.

Here is what I came up with:

Can't tell from the photo, but that is a shiny gold arrow as well, to match the gold highlight on the bird

 Supplies:

  • CuttleBug
  • Embossing folder: Smooch by Couture Creations
  • Stamp set (for sentiment):  From Close to my Heart called My Sunshine (S1304)
  • Dies:  Lawn Fawn - large scalloped rectangles and  a flourish not sure  by who (comment below if you know)
  • Lace ribbon  -- up-cycled from an old shirt
  •  Flower (stash)
  • Copper brads (one for birds eye and one for center of flower)
  • Speed ball roller for wet embossing (I used roller on the inside of the folder for the debossed (top layer)  and straight on the paper for the second layer.
  • Inks - Cotton Candy pink, Chocolate brown and gold metallic (to accent the cute little bird - he needed to stand out more)
  • Arrow embellishment: by Anna Griffin
  • Gold bow
  • Adhesive - I like Zots and Tombow
  • Card stock - in cream
  • Patterned paper - brown with polka-a-dots from K&Company
  • Printer for inside sentiment

My inside sentiment made it a "thank you" vs. a "Valentine "

Challenges I am sharing this on:
